Podcast: Turning the Page

Who are ‘Turning the Page’?

‘Turning the Page’ are a diverse cohort of students, ranging from Year 11 to 6th form, attending an alternative provision school named ‘All Heads Recognized’ (AHR) in South Norwood.

AHR was introduced in 2015 by CEO Teresa Lewis who continues to close the gap between mainstream school and the exclusion process. AHR successfully addresses retention and attainment in education, understanding that each student that enters AHR, are unique with different challenges and learning styles.

Our Vision

The vision is to elevate, empower, and establish a podcast that not only reflects young people’s unique perspectives but also invites the local community to engage in meaningful conversations through weekly podcast episodes.

The objectives are to: bridge gaps between different viewpoints, encourage dialogue on pressing topics, and highlight the importance of community involvement. The podcast aims to turn the page on misconceptions and stereotypes about alternative education, while showcasing the richness of student experiences not only within ‘All Heads Recognized’ but within the wider community.

Our Commitment

‘Turning the Page’ aims to commit to producing thoughtful content that resonates with listeners of all backgrounds and ages. Each week, various topics and themes such as: education reform, current affairs, societal issues, and the latest trends on social media, will be talked about to ensure that every episode is informative, engaging and relevant.

‘Turning the Page' aims to invite external guest speakers from the community, such as activists, educators, artists, and everyday residents to participate in discussions, sharing their expertise and experiences. A weekly newsletter will be posted on each of ‘Turning the Page’ social media accounts, which are TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, to keep everyone informed of the upcoming content. The newsletter will also be emailed to local businesses in the community.
